<![CDATA[Burger Lords - 100% Vegan]]> http://www.datadean.com/blog/burgerlords http://www.datadean.com/blog/burgerlords .blogqs { margin: 0 auto; width: 100%; font-family: sans-serif; color: #171717; text-align: center; } .blog-image { max-width: 1000px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 25px; width: 100%; } .page-title { margin: 0 auto!important; text-align: center!important; margin-top: 15px!important; } .blogqs p { max-width: 800px; margin: 0 auto; }

To celebrate the release of the all-new vegan-friendly Manual, we headed to Los Angeles to catch up with Burgerlords founder Frederick Guerrero. We chatted about what inspired them to create a 100% vegan menu that still has the looks, smells, and tastes of a classic burger joint.

What inspired you to switch to an all-vegan menu?
I’ve been vegetarian nearly my whole life, so having a vegan/vegetarian restaurant has always been something I’ve aspired to do. When the we shut down at the beginning of the pandemic, it me some time to reflect on the restaurant. I figured with so much uncertainty in the world, might as well give it a shot and transition the restaurant to what I had always envisioned.

Most vegan restaurants have a more granola vibe, but you have maintained more of a classic, greasy burger joint vibe. Tell us about that.
The aesthetic of the restaurant is just a reflection of what I’m personally interested in. Having been born and raised here in Los Angeles, I grew up eating at diners and classic fast food restaurants. I’m really inspired by nostalgia and how we can maintain that feeling but in a contemporary way.

Where do you get the inspiration for all those extra vegan-friendly ingredients you have to make?
I think the main draw of inspiration for the menu comes from classic, Southern California burger joints. We look at some of the places we grew up eating at and say “can we do a vegan version of that?” Sometimes it works, but sometimes is doesn’t. So the menu we’re presenting today is all the things that have worked!
Another thing is that we are focused on making food from real veggies. Just because something is labeled “plant based” doesn’t mean it is actually made of plants. It’s important that we source our food from like minded makers and producers that are aligned with our same values.

So, if somebody were to come into the restaurant for the first time, what would you suggest they order?
For first timers I would highly suggest our “Classic Vegan Burger.” We make it everyday from scratch using real veggies, nuts and grains. It is the foundation of our whole menu and my favorite thing to eat as well.

What’s next for Burgerlords or any other culinary pursuits?
Starting this month we will begin shipping burgers around the country on the Goldbelly platform. It is kind of like Postmates but for the entire country. So if you live on the East Coast, you can finally have our food shipped directly to you.

REQUIRED REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES: By participating in the Contest, you represent and warrant that your entry (including, without limitation, any Post or other content associated with your entry – hereafter, collectively “Entry”) complies with the following criteria as applicable (collectively, the “Required Representations and Warranties”):

    1. Your Entry must be your own original work or you must have all the rights necessary to post or re-post the content. Any person who helped produce the Post must grant ownership rights to you by a signed/dated written statement acknowledging the transfer of any ownership rights they may have in the Post to you. Each Entry must not contain any material that would violate or infringe upon the rights of any person or entity, including without limitation copyrights, trademarks or rights of privacy or publicity, or that is defamatory, threatening, indecent, obscene or offensive, or that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to any applicable laws or regulations, or which requires a license from any third party.

    2. You must have the express written consent of any identifiable persons appearing or referenced in your Entry to their Persona (as defined below) being used in the ways set out in these Official Rules, including Sponsor’s right to use your Entry for any future commercial purpose without restrictions. Upon request, you will obtain written consent of any such persons for Sponsor in the form identified by Sponsor. If any person appearing in any Entry is under the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, the written consent and signature of a parent or legal guardian is required.

    3. Except for the marks of Sponsor (addressed below), the Entry must not contain or reference any names, products or services of any company or entity or any third-party trademarks, logos, trade dress or promotion of any brand, product, or service. Sponsor grants you the limited permission to display each of their “DC Shoes” brand marks and products in your Entry solely for purposes of entering the Contest and subject to these Official Rules.

    4. Each Entry must be appropriate for public viewing. Without limiting the foregoing, each Entry must not be lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libelous, violate any laws or otherwise contain content which Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion decides is inappropriate or objectionable. Your Entry must also not disparage or cast a negative light on any person, entity, or brand, product, or service.

Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to not consider any Entry for the Contest if it believes the Entry violates or potentially violates any of the foregoing requirements or otherwise fails to comply with any provision of these Official Rules. You agree to reimburse Sponsor and the Contest Entities in full in respect of any losses, damages, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees (including, where permitted, reasonable attorneys’ fees) that they may sustain from the breach of a representation or warranty made by you or the use of any rights granted by you to Sponsor hereunder.

By submitting your Entry, you grant to Sponsor and the other Contest Entities a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sub-licensable, freely assignable license to reproduce your Entry and to otherwise (in whole or in part) use, exploit, copy, modify, adapt, edit, publish and display the Entry (including any photo, video or other content associated with your Entry) in any form, manner, venue, media or technology now known or later developed for any and all purposes, including, without limitation, for purposes of trade, advertising, and promotion as Sponsor and the other Contest Entities and their respective licensees or assignees determine, without further compensation, notification, or permission. Further, by entering, you hereby waive any moral rights you may have in your Entry in favour of the Sponsor and other Contest Entities.

By submitting your Entry you also grant to Sponsor and the Contest Entities the worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, fully sub-licensable, and freely transferable right, but not the obligation, to use any and all names, identities, titles, likenesses, distinctive appearances, physical likenesses, images, portraits, pictures, photographs (whether still or moving), screen personas, voices, vocal styles, statements, gestures, mannerisms, personalities, performance characteristics, biographical data, signatures, and any other indicia or imitations of identity or likeness listed, provided, referenced, or otherwise contained in the Entry (all attributes, collectively, per person, a “Persona”) for purposes of advertising and trade, in any format, medium, or technology now known or later developed without further notice, approval, or compensation, unless prohibited by law.

  4. Round 1 Judging: Following the Close Time, the Posts that qualify for entry into the Contest will be judged (“Round 1 Judging”) by one or more judges selected by Sponsor, which may include experienced artists (“Judging Panel”). Sponsor may remove, replace or add additional judges to the Judging Panel in its sole discretion at any time. The Posts will be judged based on creativity and technical aspects of the entrant’s original artwork (the “Criteria”). A total of three (3) entrants from Round 1 Judging will be selected by the Judging Panel to compete in the Finals of the Contest (each, a “Finalist”). The Finalists will be notified by email, phone or direct message on Instagram on or about January 25, 2021 and must respond to Sponsor’s notification by email to acknowledge receipt of Sponsor’s notification within 48 hours. All decisions of Sponsor are final. All selected Finalists are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.

  5. Finals Judging: On or around January 25, 2021, Sponsor will send each Finalist a snowboard (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) (each, a “Sponsor Board”) for use as a canvas upon which to create an original artwork for the Finals of the Contest. Each Finalist must submit to Sponsor a photo of their original artwork created on the Sponsor Board (each, a “Finalist Artwork”) on or before February 12, 2021. On or around January 15, 2021, Sponsor will post three separate posts (i.e., one for each Finalist showcasing his or her respective Finalist Artwork) (each, a “Finalist Post”) on Sponsor’s @dc_snowboarding Instagram account (the “Finals”). The Finals shall conclude on or around February 19, 2021. The Finalist whose Finalist Post received the highest number of “likes” will be declared the winner on or around February 19, 2021. Sponsor will ask the public to judge the Finalists based on the Criteria or such other skill-based criteria as otherwise determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Limit one (1) Instagram “like” per person and per Instagram account. Use of script, macro or any device to automate “likes”, hiring outsourced “like”-farming services, paying for “likes”, or engaging in any other conduct deemed inappropriate, unfair, disruptive or unsportsmanlike as determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion, is prohibited, and any entries or “likes” received through such means will be void. Any attempt by any Instagram user that “likes” a Finalist Post or any entrant to submit or solicit more than the stated number of “likes” by using multiple/different Instagram accounts, identities or any other method will void that person’s “likes” and entry (if any), and he/she may be disqualified from further “likes” or other participation in the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify anyone not fully complying with the Official Rules or meeting the eligibility and participation criteria in Sponsor's sole and absolute discretion. All decisions of Sponsor are final and binding with respect to all matters related to the Contest.

  6. Winner Notification: The potential winner of the Grand Prize will be notified by email, phone or Instagram direct message from Sponsor on or about February 19, 2021. The potential winner(s) must respond to Sponsor’s notification and provide all requested information within forty-eight (48) hours of the first contact or attempted contact from Sponsor or the potential prize may be forfeited. To claim any prize, Sponsor may require winner(s) and such winner(s)’s parent/guardian to complete, sign, and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release/Publicity Release forms and other applicable documents, which may require a social security number and/or other personally identifiable information, and may need to be notarized (collectively, the “Documentation”), before claiming any prize. All required documents must be completed and returned to Sponsor by the date and time communicated by Sponsor. At Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion, winner(s) may be required to produce a picture or some other form of proper identification to claim any prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to timely claim the prize, is disqualified, fails to timely execute and return any required forms or other documents, or if the prize notification is returned as undeliverable, Sponsor may select an alternate winner from among the remaining eligible entries based on the Criteria or such alternate method as solely determined by Sponsor. Under no circumstances will more than the advertised number of prizes be awarded.

  7. Prize(s) and Approximate Retail Values (“ARVs”):

Grand Prize: One (1) winner will receive the Grand Prize of a DC Snow W21 head to toe kit (aggregate ARV of $1,000 USD), which shall consist of (i) Boots (ARV $350 USD), (ii) Pants (ARV $200 USD), (iii) Jacket (ARV $275 USD), (iv) Gloves (ARV $75 USD), (v) Beanie (ARV $25 USD) and (vi) Hoodie (ARV $75 USD).

Finalist Prizes: Each Finalist will be able to keep the Sponsor Board (ARV $[475.00]) on which their Finalist Artwork was created.

The total approximate retail value of all prizes awarded under the Contest is $[2,245.00] USD. All prizes are awarded “AS IS” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. The prizes have no cash value, cannot be extended beyond the valid dates and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash. No substitution, exchange or transfer of prizes will be made or is permitted except in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion.

  8. Publicity & Marketing: Submission of an Entry in the Contest constitutes permission, but not the obligation, to Sponsor and the Contest Entities and their respective licensees and assigns to use entrant’s name, identity, title, likeness, distinctive appearance, physical likeness, image, portrait, picture, photograph (whether still or moving), screen persona, voice, vocal style, statements, gesture, mannerism, personality, performance characteristic, biographical data, signature, and any other indicia or imitation of identity or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade, in any medium, without further notice, approval, or compensation, unless prohibited by law. Submission of contact information in connection with the Contest (whether or not required), including, without limitation, mailing address, phone number, and email address, constitutes permission for Sponsor and the other Contest Entities to use entrant’s personal information for purposes of administration of the Contest and for other purposes permitted by Sponsor’s Privacy Policy located at www.dcshoes.com, including contacting you regarding new promotional and special offers, sales, and new features available through our websites. You may opt-out of receiving such communications as set forth in Sponsor’s Privacy Policy or as provided within any such marketing materials (e.g., using the “Unsubscribe” feature provided in the footer of Sponsor’s emails). You and your parent/guardian understand that you are providing your information to Sponsor. The information you provide to Sponsor will only be used in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy. By participating in the Contest, you agree to the terms of Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.

  9. General Terms: Decisions of Sponsor on all matters relating to the Contest are final and binding. All federal, state, provincial, local and other taxes, related to the prizes, are the sole responsibility of the winners. Contest Entities do not warrant that access to the Contest will be uninterrupted. The Contest Entities are not responsible for, including but not limited to, technical, hardware, software or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the user or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the Entries in the Contest or for any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participation in, accessing or downloading information in connection with the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual that tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest; violates the Official Rules; or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY FRAUDULENT CLAIMS, MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW, AND, SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest and to disqualify any entrant for any reason, in its sole and absolute discretion, including (but not limited to) if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest. If such cancelation occurs, Sponsor reserves the right to select the winners from among all eligible entries. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Official Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.

  10. Releases: By entering the Contest, entrant (and entrant’s parent/guardian if you are under the age of majority in entrant’s jurisdiction of residence) agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor, each other Contest Entity, and Instagram, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns (the “Released Parties”) from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of, or relating to, entrant’s participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activities (including, without limitation, events, travel, etc.) and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded hereunder (including, without limitation, any non-compliance by entrant with these Official Rules; acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize; any malfunction, error or other problem arising in connection with the collection, processing, or retention of entry information; or any typographical or other error in the printing, offering or announcement of any winner). The foregoing includes, without limitation, any claim for personal injury, property loss or damage, or death arising in any way in connection with the Contest.

  11. Disputes: Except where prohibited, each entrant (and entrant’s parent/guardian if entrant is under the age of majority in such entrant’s jurisdiction of residence) agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the State of California. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of Sponsor or other Contest Entities in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of State of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of California or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than State of California.

  12. Winner List: To obtain the winners’ names visit www.dcshoes.com or send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: “Artist Series" Contest c/o DC Shoes, Inc., 5600 Argosy Circle, #100, Huntington Beach, California 92649, U.S.A. with a written request by July 20, 2021.

  13. Third Party Platforms: The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Twitter, Facebook or Instagram (collectively, the “Social Network”). By participating, you (and your parent/guardian if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence) release the Social Network and its respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, employees, directors, agents and advertising agencies, from and against any and all injury, loss or damage caused or claimed to be caused by your Entry or participation in the Contest and/or the acceptance, awarding, receipt, use and/or misuse of any prize. Any questions regarding the Contest should be directed to Sponsor.

Our Spring collection is an ode to the past, with the future in sight and it’s literally yours for the taking. So go get at it. Keep it real and don't forget where you came from. We ain't.

Teaming up with James J. Robinson, we set out to challenge the status quo of the conventional skate brand and set this shoot on a new canvas. The heritage of bold blocks paired with rugby polos, satchels and slimmed down chunk kicks combines skate, lifestyle, and streetwear which creates an authentic modern mix of the brand.

As said on Acclaim.com:

“Australian-born, New York-based photographer James. J Robinson is the ideal director for this shoot. His grainy yet dense style encapsulated the vintage aesthetic of the apparel. The shoot takes place in an isolated pool room and explores an all-encompassing vibe of translucence and contentment. It’s a heavenly setting that sees the ripples of the water fade into a palette of green and the focus on DC’s evolutionary take on their usual vision.

This collection strengthens an already monstrous 2018 for DC, having already released the E.Tribeka – their new lifestyle sneaker. The silhouette takes some influence from the chunky bulk of the ‘dad-shoe’ trend but approaches it in a sleeker manner. The simple yet stylish quality of these sneakers boasts the ability to go with any outfit on the street-wear spectrum – culminating in the widest, most diverse reach the brand has ever had. With triumphs like this, it’s clear DC isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.”

Go explore the E.Tribeka collection here.

And keep an eye for upcoming drops from the shoot

During Paris Fashion Week S/S 2019, DC SHOES collaborated with US artist and streetwear vet Joshua Vides at The HUB, to present the latest installation of his exhibition series Reality to Idea. The exhibit saw Vides takeover the brand's underground creative studio in Paris, flipping his signature style on its head for a subterranean reimagining.

realitytoidea

This was the first time that the artist had stepped away from his usual black outlines over crisp white backgrounds, instead deciding to use fluorescent paint on a black base and lit the space with UV, taking his art to a new dimension. This unique event saw Vides create an alternative reality in the space, outlining an idea of windows, doorways and further rooms that were not there in reality, but instead all depicted using his iconic graphic lines.

realitytoidea

Reality to Idea opened on Friday 22nd of June 2018 with an exclusive launch evening, before being opened all weekend to the enthusiastic visitors. A limited run of tee-shirts was presented exclusively at Nous during the after party. Also, DC Shoes has partnered with Joshua Vides to handpaint a pair of E. Tribeka. DC SpringBreak 2017

When you've got all ya boys down under, you gotta make the most of it… And that's just what we did. Spring had sprung, the sun and slush had arrived and it was now possible to have what in Australia we call, a Barbecue- or a barby, if you're Aussie.

The Gum trees, another Australian Icon were trying to bloom - but there was actually too much snow… Alas, the smell of cooked snags was in the air and the boys were shredding. Sebbe De Buck, Iikka Backstrom, Charles Beckinsale, Peppino Stewart and Troy Sturrock were there to ride into spring with all the crew who turned out for DC’s annual Spring Break.

Wanna get yourself a new DC HoodaClava? How about you air this hip and grab it. And they did it. There were some slams, some triumphs and definitely a lot of high fives and laughs. Check out the images below to catch your own mug, or get psyched on the video above to get you amped to make the trip next year! Aussies know how to have a good time- just ask Sebbe and Iikka...

The future is always bright when you're talking about these two guys. Wes Kremer and Evan Smith: Photo: Blabac.

DC: Hey Wes, what got you started skating?

Wes: “I found out about skating through my neighbors. Some of the kids in my neighborhood were rollin1 around in the cul-de-sac I grew up in, and after seeing them roll around I wanted to get a skateboard of my own. So I got my own skateboard and just started skating. I pretty much fell in love with going fast, catching air, and just hanging out on my board. I had other friends progressing at the same time, learning tricks, and in a way my friends helped keep me skating.

DC: What is it that keeps you skating?

Wes: I have an addictive personality and I'm fully addicted to skating. I'm a lifer. Pretty much it's in my blood, and you can't stop once you've been doing something for way more than half your life.

This week, we got a chance to talk with Evan Smith about what influenced his entry into skateboarding and how it continues to be an important part of his life.

Wes Kremer and Evan Smith - Fresno, CA. Photo: Blabac.

Right off the bat, Evan laid it all out there stating, “Skateboarding is probably the most influential thing in my life.” As we dug a little deeper we got an inside look into how he got his start:

Evan: “When I was a kid I didn’t have much to do so I started skating, and I found my friends and family in a [skate] culture that already existed. The blessing of the entire thing was that I had a nearby skate park to go to - a common ground – there’s a lot of kids growing up right now that don’t have a skate park, and that was one of the biggest things that kept me skateboarding.”

DC: That’s a great point Evan, we agree skate parks play a huge role in keeping skaters of all levels motivated. But where did you even get your first board to get there?

Evan: “My uncle Mike was a huge influence for me, he got me my first board when I was 11. Actually, he got me and my cousin each a board at the same time. I remember we went out and skated in the driveway, and we each took a pretty good slam, my cousin went inside and read a book - he’s a lawyer now - but I stayed outside and skated, and I’m still skating.”

Evan Smith shows us the sights of his hometown. Tre Flip- Pittsburgh, PA. Photo: Blabac.

DC: That’s an awesome story - we speak for the entire skate community when we say that we’re glad you chose skateboarding. What is it like doing something you love so much as a career?

Evan: “It’s influential doing something you love, doing it every day, and having something to grow with. I’ve got so many things out of skating, and it’s probably the biggest creative influence on my entire life, if I didn’t have it I probably wouldn’t be complete. That’s how I feel about skateboarding.”

The event showcased 60+ of BC’s local crushers on a whirlwind of a course that specialized on speed, steep and deep berms, snowboard trickery, and lots of high–fives. The event capped the series tour which saw stops at Mammoth California, Meribel France, and Whistler Blackcomb. See ya next year!

The inconsistent and troubling weather didn’t stop the field of over 50+ riders from ripping it up all day. Taking place at France’s legendary DC Area 43, the course challenged riders to ride as fast as they can through banked turns, and throw down their best tricks on the 3 judged sections (pipe, rails, and jump). At the end of the day it was Mons Roisland who took home the cash for Mens Pro and best trick with a switch back 1260, Sebbe De Buck coming in second, and Jordan Morse with 3rd. The mysterious “LeBlanc” lead the way in Men’s Open, and Nikelaeva Xenia won for the Women’s Open. Next stop Whistler!

Under blue skies and abnormally frigid temps, Mammoth’s finest battled it out through fast banked turns and technical slopestyle features to prove who has the all-around skills to pay the bills.

In the late ‘90s and early aughts, Josh Kalis was the undisputed king of Love Park. He would hold court daily as evidenced in countless classic videos from that era. In honor of the DC x Slam City Skates Kalis Lite, Memory Screen produced this Josh Kalis Love Park retrospective. Love Park may be gone, but Kalis’ legacy there will never be forgotten.

<![CDATA["WES KREMER’S PERFECT DAY" - MONSTER CHILDREN VIDEO PIECE]]> http://www.datadean.com/blog/wes-kremers-perfect-day http://www.datadean.com/blog/wes-kremers-perfect-day

Here's a bit more from Monster Children on the video:

"We’ve all had them, those perfect days."

"Nothing all that special happens, you know, you wake up feeling fine, sun shining. With no pressing obligations, errands or chores, you go to the room you like chilling in the most, sit there, get a loose idea of what the day will hold; nothing so binding that you’d call it a plan, something more of a framework. Figure you’ll head over to the warm-up spot, some bros show up, and you end up skating all day. Nothing heavy, just tinkering around, skate some nugs, cruise down to the beach. Those days can be the most satisfying—the ones riddled with spontaneity.

Andrew Peters linked with Wes Kremer on such a day at his home in San Diego and chilled for the day. The two were able to very eloquently string something together that accurately captures the zeitgeist of an idyllic San Diego day. Wes’ skating is a joy to witness, be it down a 20-set or a slappy curb, and it’s cool to see him bopping around his natural habitat, emphasized all the more by Peters’ artful approach in shooting it. I anticipate a heavy influx in “who’s skating?” texts as a result of this one. Enjoy."

Our boy Tommy Fynn teamed up with Thrasher for 'Push'- Episode one of a series exploring the level skaters go to nail the one trick and the hurt they put themselves through on the way. Tommy is a true warrior when its comes to this shit.

The first step in putting together footage for a part is communicating with your filmer. You can’t your lensman to read your mind, so talk it out. Tommy Fynn has this down—keeping his filmer in the loop, continually planning and revising—as he throws tricks against the wall to see what sticks. Communication is key. When Tommy eventually gets that clip, his filmer is right there capturing every cheeky moment.

The team even managed to visit one of the most enigmatic monuments in Europe: an ancient, possibly neolithic, burial ground with large stones arranged curiously in all manner of odd shapes and combinations; rumor has it that dark forces once tried to destroy the wondrous monument, but their plan was thwarted. They call it "South Bank.”
